GF-5 precision ground flatstones are essential for preparing
precision surfaces. Made of aluminum oxide with a porous
structure, they remove localized swelling that occurs from surface
damage such as nicks and dents. A diamond grinding wheel is
used to grind the faces flat and parallel. The long sides are
ground flat and square to the faces.
 
A standard pair includes one light brown 120 grit and one bluish
gray 80 grit. For aluminum workpieces, an optional 46 grit with
open bond structure is available. Custom stones for internal
diameters and tapers are available upon request.
